Informed dietary choices

I overheard the following during a recent visit to the local trough 'reasonably priced cafe'.

Woman ordering from bain-marie: "I'll have the prawn and snow-pea stir fry thanks. But no rice! Oh God, rice is sooooo unbelievably bad for you. All those carbs. Yuck! No thanks...... Better also give me a spring roll.... No, make that two."

When I was little, it was potatoes and eggs. People would produce crucifixes and brandish them at the offending foods. And feel free to lecture you if you were stupid enough to have them on your plate in a public place.

Now, it's carbs.

I adore carbs.

The food you really have to worry about, though is pumpkins that drop on you out of the clear blue sky. Death-by-Pumpkin is soon to become an all too common phras...

Thankfully, the phrase 'all too common phras' is not common at all....
